When choosing your format of choice, PowerPoint can be used to create a storyboard for your online training content. Many training managers tell us they don’t want their training content to look like a PowerPoint.

Converting your content from PowerPoint to Flash can be accomplished with a number of affordable software products. This will give you a faster and more efficient web-based delivery. Some of the products are FlashSpring, Captivate and Power Converter, and offer numerous options, features, and levels of complexity. An integrated authoring tool, such as FlexAuthoring, offers the content developer an option to move from PowerPoint to online course production with ease.

The integrated authoring tool and web page template, FlexAuthoring, allows the user to link to a web page or pull in an external URL. The frame of the FlexAuthoring learning screen displays the content. The bookmarking and navigation features function just as they do for other templates. The training designer can insert web deliverable content into the FlexAuthoring learning screen, even if has been crated in a third party authoring tool. This might include PowerPoint, Flash, HTML, a Web URL, or other formats. These sources of external training content can be used an single course sections or included as part of a larger section.

Ability to create Flash Slides (FlashSpring option). Flash slides are an important advancement for PowerPoint conversion options. You have the option of converting the entire PowerPoint to a Flash Movie or HTML format. These are excellent options but don’t allow for bookmarking to the specific slide where the student leaves the section. PowerPoint provides the option of saving JPEG image slides that can be used in FlexAuthoring to achieve the bookmarking functionality, but it is difficult to create the same quality in the image compared to actual PowerPoint. Also, since the image is static, any animations or audio created in the PowerPoint are lost. Audio for image slides need to be imported to the FlexTraining Media Library and then matched to the image and learning screen.

To capture the animation and audio that are part of the original PowerPoint, choose Flash slides, which can product a single Flash object slide that matches the original quality. As with a single slide image, you can place the Flash object in a FlexAuthoring learning screen. The student will have the ability to navigate and bookmark the specific learning screen for future reference.

Two options are available. In option one, the Flash slides can be imported into the Media Library and can be embedded via the standard MultiMedia template of FlexAuthoring, the integrated authoring tool. With option two, you can point to the Flash slide by utilizing the new external URL template.

Converting your PowerPoint to the “web content look” offers more options and relative simplicity.

If you are looking for a degree or a certification in natural health or nutrition, consider looking into schools that offer online courses. This can make things easy and more convenient, allowing you to get a good education from home. Three schools that you might come across include the Clayton College of Natural Health, the Global College of Natural Medicine, and the Natural Healing College. Let’s take a look at these schools of natural health reviews.

Clayton College of Natural Health says they may be one of the initial on-line colleges in this field. But being 1st surely is not to mean being the best, this definitively is Clayton. Over time their reputation has not been the best with employers, so if you’re looking to actually locate a career you will want to go somewhere else. Their technology is somewhat behind the times because they require students to mail in their tests by way of the postal service and some classes demand that the proctor be present. Likewise, his or her educational costs are extremely expensive. They charge $127 per credit hour within the undergraduate level.

Global College of Natural Medicine is another school to check out. Regrettably, they too are behind the times with technology. Rather than working their distance learning programs online, in a fast and efficient manner, they mail their tests to the students and they in turn have to mail them back. They too are a bit pricey and charge a lot of money for all the books and study materials that are necessary for their programs.

The Natural Healing College, on the other hand, has quite a few things going for it. In terms of technology, they are up to date. They are online program and do not require you to mail in your tests and quizzes; instead are taken online. They also have online tools and resources available for students.

This college will assist students even after they graduate. There is an internship program for graduates that will give the students a real life experience which helps them get jobs. For the students that are looking for employment they will provide support in a variety of ways to include marketing, consultations, letters of recommendation and contacts within the natural health community.

Getting your certificate will only cost you about $500-1,000, depending on the program you choose and if you take advantage of the 2010 discount. This is a huge improvement over the prices of the other colleges out there. If you are looking to save money and get a great education, the Natural Healing College is the place.

You will find the courses at the Natural Healing College are high quality and will give you the valuable information you will need to get a job in natural health or nutrition. Your books and study material are included in the tuition. These books are a great resource during class and later on in your career.

Overall, if you’re looking for a great education that won’t leave you broke and uses current technology that you can take advantage of from home, the Natural Healing College is the school for you. Hopefully these short reviews of schools of natural health have helped you see that.

If you are looking for a degree or a diploma in natural healthor nutrition, consider looking into schools that offer internet courses. This can make things simple and more suitable, allowing you to get a great education from home. Learn more by visiting the Natural Healing College.

download.dll error is one of the most common system errors that any PC user will come across. download.dll error always happens when there is a battle in the path of your operating system. When you try to open some files, applications or just start up your computer then download.dll error pops up on the PC screen. To fix download.dll error, you should identify the specific cause of this download.dll error.

First, let’s have a look at the causes of download.dll error：

* DLL file was improperly deleted.

* Deletion of a shared DLL file when an application is uninstalled causing missing DLL errors.

* A virus or trojan deleted or infected the shared DLL file.

* Invalid or incorrect DLL entries in the Windows registry.

* DLL files were corrupted.

How to fix download.dll error?

1. Fix download.dll error by reinstalling the applications which is reporting the download.dll error. If the download.dll error comes from a 3rd party software, try to uninstall and reinstall it again. Some applications save you the trouble from doing that by including a “Repair” option when you try to uninstall it. This method can help you retrieve the missing dll file in order to fix download.dll error.

2. Try downloading a copy of the DLL from the Internet to fix download.dll error. Most of the dll files are available downloading on the Internet. The new dll files can replace the missing or corrupted one so that you will remove download.dll error after restart your computer.

3. Copy the same dll file from a networked computer. If you have a computer running on the same OS or having a similar set of programs installed, do a search in that computer and see if the error can be fixed by that.

4. In order to fix the download.dll error you need to fix the Windows registry. The registry is the directory that contains information to run all software and hardware on your computer. When download.dll error comes to registry problems, registry cleaners do the job well. Don’t bother pressuring yourself in reinstalling because even a simple registry fix can put things in order and even optimize your system.

In my opinion, running a trusted registry cleaner is the best way to fix download.dll error and other PC errors. You have no need to fix download.dll error manually. If you continue to run this damaged system and don’t fix download.dll error, this potential risk will bring you more troubles, even system crash.

If you are experiencing a decline in the speed of your computer in the past weeks, and you have been encountering weird error messages, your computer already has a corrupt registry. Repairing a corrupt registry manually is a bad idea because you could end unintentionally deleting vital files. This should be fixed using a registry cleaner to bring your computer back to life again.

A corrupt and damage registry can do more than slowing down your machine. It also decreases the protection and security of your operating system. A corrupt registry makes your computer prone to spyware, viruses and other hazardous intruders.

If you are wondering what the registry is, you should know that it is the large database that stores all necessary information, files, keys, and user data that are needed by your computer to function. The hardware and software programs are kept in the registry. New files are added to the registry every time you perform an action with your computer. The registry gets corrupt when too many files are stored in it. This normally happens when you install too many programs in your system.

Fortunately enough, corrupt registry files can be fixed easily with the help of a registry cleaner. This program will scan your computer for damaged files. It will allow you to remove these damaged files through a display of the comprehensive scan. Not all of the errors you wish to remove will be removed as some registry cleaners show files to be damaged when they really are not. Because of this, you should get a registry cleaner that will show you the accurate result of errors. You should also choose a program that will allow you to schedule regular scans of your operating system. This feature is very essential in finding a registry cleaner as it will save you from the stress of having to perform the whole process all over again. With a reliable registry cleaner, you never have to worry about your computer again.

If you want to learn how to make a computer run faster you have to free up disk space, you can improve the performance of your computer quite a bit by doing this. Windows comes with a disk cleanup tool that helps you free up space on your hard disk. The utility identifies files that you can safely delete without messing anything up, and then enables you to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files. This is a necessary step when looking to speed up your computer.

Use Disk Cleanup to….

* Remove temporary Internet files.
* Remove downloaded program files (such as Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets).
* Empty the Recycle Bin.
* Remove Windows temporary files.
* Remove optional Windows components that you don’t use.
* Remove installed programs that you no longer use.

Typically, temporary Internet files take the most amount of space because the browser caches each page you visit for faster access later.

To use Disk Cleanup

1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup. If several drives are available, you might be prompted to specify which drive you want to clean.

Disk Cleanup calculates the amount of space you will be able to free.

2. In the Disk Cleanup for dialog box, scroll through the content of the Files to delete list. (If you have multiple hard drives you will have to select which one to scan.)

Choose the files that you want to delete.

3. Clear the check boxes for files that you don’t want to delete, and then click OK.

4. When prompted to confirm that you want to delete the specified files, click OK.

And thats it for this step! This will definitely help speed up your computer.

Dealing with Text Message Acronyms and Shortcuts

by Lee Brannon

Frankly the English language is changing. Thanks to chat rooms, Instant Message programs, email, blogs, text windows for interactive video game players and cell phones we all suddenly find ourselves confronted with letters in groups that are not recognizable. These groups are text shortcuts and they are now nearly as common as the common English word. Whether we like it or not it is now an ingrained part of our culture and we either embrace it or fail to communicate.

Some of this has been driven by simple peer pressure in younger generations. Knowing the code makes you feel “in”. Unfortunately many people carry this with them when they enter the job market. This has effected business communications in such a way that many companies are having to setup guidelines and special training classes, Not to mention the fact that supervisors are having to learn these new Acronyms whether they approve of them or not.

It is not as alien as one might think. When you reply to an email what does your email program automatically do with the subject line? It puts RE: in front of it. Of course we all recognize this as “Regarding.” Another example is the RSVP. We all know this right off as a request to respond. The only real difference is that the text shortcut has progressed to the point where multiple instances of these letter combinations show up in the same communication. It has gone far enough now that there are many of people who carry cell phones but never talk on the phone. They communicate almost entirely through text messages. There are many reasons for this and I’ll leave this up to the linguist and psychologist , but probably the best explanation is that using text messaging gives them the option of not replying or taking the time to think about what they want to say. Good or bad we are all going to have to join in.

The Basic Rules.

Keep in mind that people won’t always get what you type. As a matter of fact I would have to look half of my own list up if you sent them to me because I don’t see them often and I don’t use more than a dozen of them. Worse, your shortcuts may be misread. Keep the use of acronyms and shortcuts in your messages to a minimum. It makes it easier to read.

There are several places on the net that will allow you to look up shortcuts you do not understand. Several of them claim to be the “biggest” or “Largest” list. I recommend staying away from those. They seem to focus on the foul language use and tend to be filled with Acronyms for every common phrase uttered by mankind. For example, if someone writes ABIHIWTITB in place of “A bird in hand is worth two in the bush”, are you really going to recognize it?

In most cases a text shortcut is either an acronym or a combination of letters and numbers that sound like the word. In many cases it is two shortcuts combined. For example CU (See You) and L8R (later) can be combined to make “See you Later.” I have prepared a list of about 100 of the most common text shortcuts based on my own experience and from browsing many other list. This should be the basis to help anyone get started. Personally I didn’t think I used that many myself but after tracking my text messages, emails and website comments I found that I actually use about 10 of these on a regular basis.Note to Parents:

My list purposefully left out the shortcuts related to dating, sex and other inappropriate shortcuts. Under age children have many codes specific to them and I am not an expert. For example, CD9 means that you are in the room with them. If you need to find these shortcuts I suggest that you go to a search engine and do a search on “text message abbreviations for parents” This should provide you with several good sites and articles listing these codes.

I attended an animation seminar recently and it was quite a fun and informative event. Various animators and animation enthusiasts have attended the prestigious event. Luckily I was part of the guest list, the animation seminar started from where animation originated, from the ancient times to the first time Gertie, the dinosaur, was able to move on its own. Later modern animation was discussed.

Flash animation is one of the elearning tools used in creating learning content. It is now being used as a platform in producing animated series. From what I have observed, more and more people are acknowledging this new medium for animation. Knowing this, I asked myself, “Would an animated learning content be a better education course?”

Dora the explorer became a cartoon sensation with the younger generation. From toddlers to kids aged 7, every kid knows the Spanish speaking girl. The cartoon is basically about the adventures of Dora and her boot wearing monkey friend. They solve different problems in every episode. The treatment of the cartoon is similar to an interactive flash game. Dora will ask a question then a cursor similar to a personal computer’s mouse cursor will guide the viewers in choosing the right answer.

The show is very educational and since it involves the audience in the problem solving parts, it makes the show interactive and engaging. My 5 year old kid really likes to fiddle with my computer so I bought preschool game software. The game has animated clips and an animated character that guides him throughout the game. He loves it so much because he really loves cartoons and when I am doing paper work, I let him play with it. The result was quite impressive. There was a time when I have to show him how to solve a certain puzzle and when he encountered a similar puzzle like the one I’d solved, he solved it on his own effortlessly.

Nowadays people are seeing animation as more than just shows for children. Filmmakers now use animation as a medium in their movies. In the virtual classroom, animation is a great tool for teaching elearners through the use of flash animation. Real life situations can be animated for students to study. For example, in medical and health education courses, the human anatomy is animated and even though it is a simulated version of the real thing, the details of it are very accurate. It is like seeing the real thing as well. Online medical students can watch how medicine works on certain ailments through an animated clip which shows how the medicine is applied. Ordinary and boring quizzes can be spiced up by converting it into a more animated and interactive game rather than presenting it in a simple question and answer form.

By using animation in producing learning content, students become more interested in learning because they are learning their lessons but at the same time they are entertained as well. Elearning tools like flash animation makes online learning content and education modules become easier to understand and user friendly.

If Cisco training is your aspiration, and you’ve not yet worked with routers or network switches, the chances are your first course should be the CCNA training. This educates you in the necessary skills to set up and maintain routers. The internet is constructed from huge numbers of routers, and national or international corporations with many locations also utilise routers to allow their networks to talk to each other.

The sort of jobs available with this type of qualification mean you’ll most probably work for large companies that have various different locations but need their computer networks to talk to each other. The other possibility is being employed by an internet service provider. Jobs requiring these skills are plentiful and well remunerated.

Qualifying up to the CCNA level is where you should be aiming; at this stage avoid being tempted to do the CCNP. Once you’ve worked for a few years, you can decide if it’s relevant for you to have this next level up. If so, you will have developed the skills you need for the CCNP – as it’s a very complex course – and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

A ridiculously large number of organisations only look at the plaque to hang on your wall, and forget the reasons for getting there – getting yourself a new job or career. Always begin with the end in mind – don’t make the journey more important than where you want to get to. Never let yourself become part of the group who choose a training program that sounds really ‘interesting’ and ‘fun’ – and get to the final hurdle of an accreditation for something they’ll never enjoy.

It’s a good idea to understand the exact expectations industry will have. Which precise exams you’ll be required to have and in what way you can gain some industry experience. You should also spend a little time assessing how far you think you’ll want to go as it may affect your choice of qualifications. It’s good advice for all students to chat with an industry professional before they make a decision on a particular study course. This is essential to ensure it contains the relevant skills for the chosen career.

We can see an excess of professional positions up for grabs in the IT industry. Finding the particular one for yourself can be very difficult. After all, if you’ve got no experience in the IT sector, how are you equipped to know what any qualified IT worker spends their day doing? How can you possibly choose what educational path will be most suitable for success. Getting to any kind of right conclusion really only appears from a thorough analysis of several varying key points:

* Your hobbies and interests – these can show the possibilities will provide a happy working life.

* Why it seems right stepping into computing – is it to overcome a particular goal like being self-employed for example.

* The income requirements that are important to you?

* With everything that IT encompasses, it’s important to be able to take in what’s different.

* It’s wise to spend some time thinking about the amount of time and effort you’re going to invest in the accreditation program.

For most of us, dissecting all these ideas tends to require the help of a professional that has direct industry experience. And we’re not only talking about the accreditations – but also the commercial expectations and needs of the market as well.

One useful service provided by many trainers is a Job Placement Assistance program. This is designed to help you get your first commercial position. Often, this feature is bigged up too much, because it’s really not that difficult for well qualified and focused men and women to land work in IT – as there is such a shortage of well trained people.

However, what is relevant is to have CV and Interview advice and support though; and we’d encourage everyone to bring their CV up to date right at the beginning of their training – don’t procrastinate and leave it until you’ve graduated or passed any exams. Getting onto the ‘maybe’ pile of CV’s is far better than not even being known about. Many junior positions are given to people (who’ve only just left first base.) The most efficient companies to help you land that job are most often local IT focused employment agencies. As they’re keen to place you to receive their commission, they have more incentive to get on with it.

Many students, it seems, invest a great deal of time on their training course (for years sometimes), only to give up at the first hurdle when attempting to secure a job. Market yourself… Make an effort to let employers know about you. Good jobs don’t just knock on your door.

Coming across job security nowadays is incredibly rare. Businesses frequently drop us out of the workplace at a moment’s notice – whenever it suits. But a marketplace with high growth, with huge staffing demands (because of a big shortage of properly qualified workers), opens the possibility of real job security.

With the IT sector as an example, a key e-Skills investigation brought to light major skills shortages across the UK of over 26 percent. So, for every 4 jobs that exist across IT, businesses can only locate enough qualified individuals for three of the four. Gaining the appropriate commercial IT accreditation is as a result a quick route to a long-term as well as pleasing livelihood. As the Information Technology market is increasing at the speed it is, there really isn’t any other area of industry worth investigating for your new career.

Because you’re doing your research on MCSE courses, it’s possible you’re in one of these categories: You’re possibly contemplating a dynamic move to get into the IT field, and research demonstrates there’s a massive need for properly qualified people. On the other hand you’re someone with a certain amount of IT knowledge – and you’d like to consolidate your skill-set with a qualification such as MCSE.

As you try to find out more, you’ll hit upon training providers that short-change you by failing to provide the most up-to-date Microsoft version. Avoid these companies as you’ll experience challenges in the exam. If you’re learning from an out-of-date syllabus, it will be hard to pass. Stay away from organisations who are only trying to make a sale. Ask for comprehensive, personal guidance to ensure you’re registering on the correct course. Resist being forced into a standard product by an inadequate outfit.

Most trainers typically provide mainly work-books and reference manuals. Obviously, this isn’t much fun and not really conducive to taking things in. Learning psychology studies show that memory is aided when all our senses are involved, and we put into practice what we’ve been studying.

The latest home-based training features interactive CD and DVD ROM’s. By watching and listening to instructors on video tutorials you’ll learn your subject through their teaching and demonstrations. Then you test your knowledge by utilising the practice lab’s and modules. Make sure to obtain a study material demo’ from your training provider. The materials should incorporate slide-shows, instructor-led videos and fully interactive skills-lab’s.

It doesn’t make sense to choose training that is only available online. Connection quality and reliability varies hugely across the ISP (internet service provider) market, make sure you get disc based courseware (On CD or DVD).

Many people question why academic qualifications are being replaced by more commercial certifications? Industry is now aware that to learn the appropriate commercial skills, proper accreditation from the likes of Microsoft, CISCO, Adobe and CompTIA most often has much more specialised relevance – at a far reduced cost both money and time wise. In essence, only that which is required is learned. It’s not quite as straightforward as that, but the principle objective is to concentrate on the fundamentally important skill-sets (with some necessary background) – without overdoing the detail in all sorts of other things – in the way that academic establishments often do.

It’s a bit like the TV advert: ‘It does what it says on the tin’. The company just needs to know what they need doing, and then match up the appropriate exam numbers as a requirement. They’ll know then that all applicants can do what they need.

Don’t put too much store, as a lot of students can, on the accreditation program. You’re not training for the sake of training; you’re training to become commercially employable. You need to remain focused on where you want to go. Students often train for a single year but end up doing a job for a lifetime. Don’t make the error of choosing what sounds like an ‘interesting’ course only to spend 20 years doing an unrewarding career!

You must also consider your leanings around career development, earning potential, and how ambitious you are. It’s vital to know what will be expected of you, what exams will be required and how you’ll gain real-world experience. Always seek guidance and advice from an experienced professional, even if you have to pay – as it’s a lot cheaper and safer to discover early on whether you’ve chosen correctly, instead of finding out after 2 years that you aren’t going to enjoy the job you’ve chosen and now need to go back to square one.

‘Exam Guarantees’ are often bundled with training offers – they always involve paying for the exam fees up-front, before you’ve even made a start on the course. Before you jump at the chance of a guarantee, think about this:

We all know that we’re still paying for it – it’s not so hard to see that it’s already been included in the overall price charged by the training company. It’s certainly not free (although some people will believe anything the marketing companies think up these days!) Passing first time is everyone’s goal. Taking your exams progressively in order and paying as you go has a marked effect on pass-rates – you revise thoroughly and are aware of the costs involved.

Why should you pay a training course provider at the start of the course for exam fees? Hold on to your money and pay for the exam when you’re ready, instead of paying any mark-up – and do it in a local testing centre – instead of miles away at the college’s beck and call. Why tie up your cash (or borrow more than you need) for exam fees when you didn’t need to? A great deal of money is netted by organisations getting money in early for exam fees – and banking on the fact that many won’t be taken. Most companies will require you to sit pre-tests and hold you back from re-takes until you’ve demonstrated an excellent ability to pass – making an ‘exam guarantee’ just about worthless.

Exams taken at VUE and Prometric centres are in the region of 112 pounds in the UK. Why pay exorbitant ‘Exam Guarantee’ fees (usually wrapped up in the course package price) – when a quality course, support and consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software is what will really see you through.
